Document Summary

The law stigmatizes minor crimes, or things that don"t look good in society, i. e. drugs, sex work, etc. The mass difference of aderol vs. meth, when they"re the same drug, but one has more stigma then the other. Homelessness has been stigmatized for a while. Police ae not social workers, they"re taught to see things in black and white. Even when police are familiar with mental health institutionalization but they don"t have the resources to solve these problems. The people who are experiencing homelessness this is seen as bad business, police are forced to remove these people from the streets. These are issues to people who don"t have access to things like washrooms so they are forced to use a bush for example and eventually/possibly get arrested. One out of every 50 are calls about mental illness, one of 100 are on apprehension (so take someone to mental health institution)
