Document Summary
That"s alright, said the pharmacist, waving off my attempt to hand her my resume. My senior high-school year, i tried relentlessly to acquire a position job-shadowing a pharmacist, handing my resume to every pharmacy possible, and followed-up with weekly calls, with no success. This continued until my father, a chemist, acquainted himself with a new co-worker, who"s wife happened to be the head pharmacist and manager a pharmacy near my house. I was ecstatic as she allowed me to come weekly, without any interest in my resume or any questions. In this essay, i will apply and analyze this personal experience of social capital to the conflict theory. This personal experience is an effective example of social capital as i used the advantages of my father being acquainted with other chemists at his work, who further had connections to pharmacists. I used his network of people in the pharmacy world to help me acquire the desired position.
