Psychoneuroimmunology: examines the links between stress, the concomitant endocrine and immunological responses and the development or exacerbation of illness. Models of stress: stimulus based models : a stimulus, live-event or a set of circumstances that arouses physiological, psychological reactions that may increase the individual"s vulnerability to illness. The scale of stressful life-events is used to document person"s relatively recent experiences: response-based models: the non-specific response of the body to any kind of demand made upon it.
