Downs syndrome involves unusual genetic condition; you either have the extra 21st chromosome or you do not no such thing as partial form of the disorder. Study by rosenhan; had a group of graduates go to a mental institution claiming that they were hearing voices; of the 15 students, 14 were admitted as having a mental disorder, 11 diagnosed as schizophrenic. It took weeks to figure out they didn"t have schizophrenia: therapies/treatments may not always benefit you, even the best intentions can lead to difficulties, people do not experience an increase in negative emotions upon learning their diagnosis.
