Document Summary

For each stage, indicate the age of organism, risks for developing the organism, as well as the major milestones. In development psychology, the time between conception and birth is known as the prenatal period, that is generally divided into three stages: Embryonic stage (2 weeks to 2 months after conception) Fetal stage (2 months after conception to birth) The first two weeks after conception is called the germinal stage. This stage involves zygotes single-celled organisms that result from conception. The organism begins its journey down the fallopian tube down to the uterus, where it will start the process of cell division and growth. Cells in this stage become embedded in the wall of the uterus, a process known as implantation if this process fails, the pregnancy terminates. One developmental milestone that occurs during this stage is the formation of the placenta that begins to develop upon implantation of the blastocyst.
