Phobia- disrupting, fear-mediated avoidance that is out of proportion to the danger that actually posed and is recognized by the sufferer as groundless. Mysophobia- fear of contamination and dirt that plagues many people. Nomophobia- increasing reliance on contacting others through computer and avoiding actual social interactions, fear of losing cell phone contact. Specific phobia- unwarranted fears caused by the presence or anticipation of a specific object or situation. Social phobia- persistent, irrational fears linked generally to the presence of other people. Vicarious learning- the learning of fear by observing others.
