Older adults use the most health care dollars because they wait before they"re sick to use the health care system: need to focus on health promotion. Need to understand that its just as important in adulthood as childhood. Older adults are not too old to stop smoking, start exercising, changing diet. Different health promotion strategies for different age groups: example: strength training may be feasible for young and middle age but not the elderly. High quality, longer lives, free of disease, disability, injury, premature death.
