Document Summary

Antigen induces an immune response to occur; embedded in membrane of rbc. Antibody free floating; contains antigen binding site; cause agglutination. Transfusion depends on incoming antigen interacting with present antibody. Treatment by rhogam destroys any rbc from baby that enter mom. Binding proteins attach to non binding site (prevent dna strands from rejoining) Dna topoisomerase attach to release tension on dna strands and allow helicase to unwind dna. Single stranded dna sequences act as template. Primer rna attaches to start (short double stranded region required) New nucleotides are added by dna polymerase lll. Dna nucleotides are added from 5" end to 3" end -> leading strand . On lagging strand few rna primers attach to complementary strand as bases are only added at 3"end. Strands between primers are called okazaki fragments. Rna primers are removed and dna nucleotides are added by dna polymerase l. Dna ligase joins fragments or dna between okazaki fragments and new bases.
