As aluminum is a conductor of heat ,and has a higher thermal capacity it also means that it loses heat faster. However water is not a conductor of heat .Thus aluminum loses heat faster. The specific heat of water is much higher than that of aluminum meaning that a greater amount of energy must escape the water than aluminum for them to cool the same amount. Since aluminum needs to lose less energy ,it can do so more quickly.
