Block 1 of mass m1 slides from rest along a frictionless ramp froma height h = 2.5 m and then collides with a stationary block 2,which has a mass m2 = 2m1. After the
collision, block 2 slides into a region where the coefficient ofkinetic friction µk is 0.5 and comes to a stop in distance d withinthat region. What is the value of d if the collision is (a) elasticand (b) completely inelastic?
* The picture shown is one block going down a hill and hitting astationary block, pushing the stationary block onto a surface witha coefficient of friction of .5.
