A 0.80-kg plastic block, placed on rough surface with coefficientof kinetic friction is firmly attached to a light horizontal spring(spring constant, k = 160 Nm-1). It is found that the mass-springsystem, when compressed 10.0 cm and released from rest (as shown inFigure 2a), stretches out 6.6 cm beyond the equilibrium position(xo) before stopping and turning back (as denoted in Figure2b).

i) By using Work-Energy theorem, show that the coefficient offriction between the block and the surface is 0.347.

ii) The block’s first stop is at position x = - 6.6 cm as shown inFigure 2b. After that, the block is moving to the right and reachesits second stop. Find the position of its second stop.
