This involved attempts to reveal the truth and provide justice through the. In so doing, the two countries appeared to satisfy the sort of ideal-type models of reconciliation described above. By the 1980s, however, the inadequacies, partiality, omissions and even injustices of earlier settlements were becoming apparent. Residues of mistrust", to use lee"s phrase, became increasingly obvious, and indicated that reconciliation between the two sides was incomplete or partial.
