I believe american citizens had maintained the republic since the form of government used when the nation was founded is still being used today. The american citizens from the fifty states choose representatives who value similar subjects and dynamically attempt to transform them in the preferred direction. Besides, if benjamin franklin were to see how the current american government is faring on, he would somehow be disappointed since citizens nowadays value their self-interest much more than the state"s interest in general.
