Saw problems within society: corruption within the church, a lot of beggars, thieves, criminal activity, gambling, drunkenness, prostitutes. Afraid that society is going to suffer god"s wrath if they don"t fix society or the church. Stay where you are and clean up society and affect the greatest change in society. Radical puritans believed you cannot clean society from within because corruption is too deep. the only way u can fix society is to separate from society known as separatists. By 1620 puritans (separatists) decided they could no longer stay in england and then a group of sep sailed across the atlantic ocean.
