Recent tv shows/media portrays diverse groups of people (not just centered around white people) Do captions accurately reflect what is happening in the show? (not just word for word, but emotion and humor) Especially for children, tv/movies ar elearning tools and first exposure to many aspects of society (e. g. people, expected behaviors) Blue"s clues, dora the explorer, sesame street. Ex: sesame street: julia (autistic character) introduces children to autism and how to interact/accept autistic people. Defining characteristics (of princesses): dainty, feminine, beautiful, small unrealistic representations of what a person should be.
