Document Summary

Some of things at the top of list don"t change a lot either. Number of places where kuhn talks about the same topic. Difference in exemplars, standards of inquiry, language, etc. Moving between paradigms is how kuhn argues but there are some things that do not change (barrett) Things radically change all at the same time during scientific revolution. Only in context of paradigm that you have rational justification. *kuhn is relativist with respect to rational justification & relativist with respect to truth (depends on which paradigm you are in) There is some stuff that extends from paradigm to paradigm, but they do not have standard of rational justification. If did have rational justification, would be able to build knowledge over time. Part of reason tough to get people to accept discovery of x-rays because created issues for existing paradigm. Previously completed work would have to be done again & denied work of previously paradigmatic types of instrumentation.
