The glands used by the reproductive system are the hypothalamus, pituitary glands, and ovary (female) or testes (male: exocrine- have a duct and secrete a large amount of secretion, endocrine- no duct releases into blood vessel. Small amount of secretion called hormones: hormone: messenger molecule which can only interact with specific cells; different types based on chemical structure or origin or function. Agonist mimics the effect of hormone (binds and stimulates same receptor) All involve negative feedback (bringing things down to a certain level: feedback: the controller must monitor a signal that indicated the physiological state; in the reproductive system this signal is another hormone; this process is called feedback. Fsh (follicle stimulating hormone) stimulates the circoli cells and climb them to get going.
