Being sane in insane places: 12 people checked into asylums to see how long it took staff to find out they were not insane. No staff believed they were faking, but many other patients noticed and caught on. Study of the impact of a person or group"s thoughts, feelings and behaviors on another"s thoughts, feelings and behaviors. Perceived thoughts, feelings, etc can be just as influential as their actual thoughts etc. Unofficial definition: the psychology of everyday life and experience. What you and your friends want to know about you and your friends. What you learn here should change you. Or at least how you think about humans. Just lecturing is completely the worst way to learn. This class will focus on 5 hypotheses. My overarching goal is that in five years you still remember some (all?) and why they are important. Corollary 1b: known situations influence our perception of others in weird ways.
