Circulation is important in large organisms. because you have to move nutrients and wastes over a larger area. Partial skull that encloses their brain that doesn"t have two major brain regions. Our sister taxa but new research shows that they might be closely related to lampreys. Hagfish and lampreys might be put together into one group. Hagfish may have lost more vertebrate like traits. Adaptations to fish allow the invasion of land by amphibians. Houses eels, seahorses, leafy sea dragons, yellow finned tuna, sharks, and rays. Allow fish to catch and eat larger and more active prey and improve feeding efficiency.
