People are talking to each other but they"re not communicating: too little communication. Rule: simple and direct is best, without being abrupt. Milton says: be aware of all "to be" verbs and use them sparingly! (is, am, are, was, were, will be: these are place markers. It is integrated in our language pervasively: make certain of the verbs convey the best. For example: he is in the state of demonstrating interest in the material. He engages the concept. (simple and direct) This is more precise and significantly shorter and communicates better; more direct. Milton says: be aware of prepositions (of, by, near, around, in, over, toward)
