Nest can serve as a place for rearing, living, and cultivation of fungi that they feed on. Workers may forage in open (which means nest can get larger and larger and. Termite nest evolution (only in the bigger structure nest) larger once workers start to forage in the open) Nest starts as simple chamber made by the founding pair. Nest material can be constructed in two ways. Use particles of soil or wood spit as glue. May burrow deeper to reach moist soil or water table.
