In cultural evolution individuals can decide whether or not to follow their parents. Began 1500 ad with the expansion of western societies. Aka or acculturation, imperialism, colonialism, diffusion, commercialization. The opposite of ethnocentrism is cultural relativism. In the aftermath of violent events, deprived peoples have created new cultures.
