S-Curves & Technological Innovation:
o S-Curve Pattern of Innovation: characterized by slow initial progress,
then rapid progress, & then slow progress again as a technology matures
& reaches its limits.
Point A progress is slow.
Flat slope indicates increased effort.
Point B as new technology matures, researchers figure out how
to get better performance from it.
Steep slope small amounts of effort will result in significant
increases in performance.
