Document Summary

Blood leaves from heart to go to lower limb- let ventricle. Diaphragm changes the name between the aortas. Aorta splits into common (split) iliac external and internal iliac. Internal iliac- pelvis: superior gluteal, inferior gluteal, obturator artery. External iliac- underneath in inguinal ligament (asis and pubic tubercle, same coronal plane) then changes to the femoral artery. Popliteal artery- passes the inferior border of popliteus muscle then splits into two arteries; anterior and posterior ibial artery. When the anterior ibial artery crosses the ankle joint and it becomes known as the dorsalis pedis artery. Posterior ibial artery branches of to ibular artery; gives blood supply to soleus, blood supply to lateral compartment of leg; curls around the posterior side of medial malleolus then splits into lateral and medial plantar artery. Deep femoral artery (non-terminal)- irst branch of of the femoral artery- innervates most of the posterior thigh. Terminal branch- artery before that has completely ended.
