Close to the midline/further from the midline; my eye is medial to my ear: proximal/distal. Closer to the torso/ further from the torso; my knee is proximal to my foot: superior/inferior. Up/down; my abdomen is inferior to my head: superficial/deep. Body surface/inside body; my skin is superficial to my blood. Identify all of the body regions on figure 1. 8 key regions: practice describing these body regions in relation to one another using anatomical direction terms- example the abdomen is superior to the pelvic region.
