Must be someone that is competent and you know what there job description says. Policies common to many state nursing practice acts: Only nursing tasks can be delegated, not nursing practice. Rn must perform the patient assessment to determine what can be delegated. Rn can delegate only what is within the scope of nursing practice. Rn is accountable and responsible for the delegated task.
