The objective pursued by cognitive neuropsychology of language is the same as that intended by. Psycholinguistics; that is, to identify the computational subsystems that underlie language processing (schwartz, 1987), differentiating both disciplines in the type of subjects they use to carry out their studies. Whilesicolinguous p studies the processes of understanding and production. 1 in normal subjects, cognitive neuropsychology of language studies such processes in subjects with some kind of deficit in the use of language faculty (valle et al. 1990). In particular, the objective would be to study the levels of processing of the language faculty (phonological, lexical, syntactic and semantic) in the patient with language alterations (s nchez. This perspective therefore allows us to consider aphasia as a deficit affectingone of these components of the processing system and not as a deficit of linguistic actions (s nchez bernardos, 1992).
