Neuropsychology has its origin in the 19th and 20th centuries, according to various works by psychologists and doctors. Among the main studies that led to the creation of neuropsychology, is the study of aphasia. 1 ( pierre paul broca ), which determined that the central location of language production was in what we now know as broca"s area (left hemisphere). Another important contribution to the history of neuropsychology was the creation of phrenology ( franz joseph gall ), which considered that there were mental functions with a different location in the brain. Among his discoveries is the differentiation of the human being with the animals by the development of the brain and the frontal lobe . But if we owe the creation of neuropsychology to someone, it is the one who today is considered his father and founder: alexander romanovich luria .
