Two way lense, very important role; bc upper management looks down to manager to see how he and his employees are doing and the employees look up to the manager for directions. Clearly enunciate and explain what is going to happen and how to get there. Design a plan to continually communicate your standards. Level people tend to look up to their managers to see how to behave. Holding everyone accountable to the same standards across the board. Think of ethics in behavioral terms- what behavior are you looking for. Specify the behavior you want and explain why. Create a work environment that supports that behavior. Multiple ethical selves ethical in one place but not another. Goals combined with rewards can encourage unethical or ethical behavior.
