Document Summary

Cells are epithelial cells--in layers an touch cells on all sides. Either make a tube or sac in body. All tubes that go through body are lined with epithelial cells. Hyperproliferation means going through cell cycle and increasing cell population. Metastasis: movement of cancerous cells from site of origin to a new site. Primary tumor is the tumor where it started and secondary location is where the cancer migrated to. Achieved by increasing telomerase activity, mutating p53 so that cells do not senesce even when telomere caps are lost. Part of that disease could be metabolic disfunction. Also epigenetic, sometimes they arise from inappropriate silencing or activation of things. Not necessarily change in dna sequence, could be a change in genes. Individual cell that undergoes genetic changes in unlucky and random combination that causes the disease. Every individual cell is a genetic time bomb.
