Document Summary

If you know what stem cells are, it is good knowledge for biology. Nuclei from both sperm and mom in the same cell (nuclei fuze to become 1 diploid nucleus/zygote) Divides and continues to divide until the cells differentiate. Earliest couple of divisions are as undifferentiated as a human cell can be (totipotent) potential to become any human cell type in the world. Begin to differentiate and create the outer layer of cells called trophectodermal and they will further differentiate to become placenta. Other cell type are called embryonic stem cells. Glob of them are called the inner cell mass of the blastocyst. Go from mass off cells to this structure where you have 2 differentiated cell types and a hollow interior, you have a blastocyst (couple of weeks) After that, the embryo will actually plant (set up shop in a spot and grow there) Be able to divide and differentiate into normal specialized cells of the organism.
