Journalists believe they are the eyes and ears of society and never imagine what that might do to their minds. There are a growing wave of journalists who understand that trauma journalism can be dangerous and emotionally devastating. A lot of these journalists go through anger, hurt and despair thinking about all the people who have died that they have to report on and keep moving forward. There are always going to be people who get ptsd, who fight it, and who tell you that if you"re a journalist you need to suck it up and get back to work. A lot of people down play the emotions these journalists may feel when reporting because they weren"t the ones who went through it personally.
