Behavioural perspective holds that personality is the sum of a person"s conditioned tendencies. Dominant theory in psychology for a very long time, which can be distilled into the two parts shown below: emotional reactions, attitudes, preferences, emergence and dissolution of action tendencies. Support: conditioning works very well for these two broad categories of experience. Attitudes and preferences can occur through conditioning but also emerge in others ways not explained by conditioning. Conditioning can also account for negative preferences or attitudes and how they develop. Action tendencies explained to emerge as a result of experiencing good or bad outcomes (via conditioning)
