The men"s soccer team in denmark were o ering part of their salary to the women"s soccer team, to create equality, but the denmark board of soccer prevented this. The media provides: information: media should cover more types of sports, entertainment: it"s exciting for us to watch, interpretation: we like having people break down what is going down for us, even though its not that complicated. The issue with this is that we end up absorbing certain biases in society that are reinforced by society. The point the media exists: is to make money, shape values, provide a public service. The rst sport to pay women and men equally was beach volleyball. The video showed discussed how women were always portrayed o of the court and very hyper sexualized. They were rarely shown in their athletic form. Sport encourages violence by highlighting it, and this in turn reinforces that violence is important in sport.
