Many motor control areas involved in returning the ball: posterior parietal cortex, motor cortex, basal ganglia, hippocampus, brainstem nuclei, cerebellum, spinal cord. Cellular components of nervous system (2 cell types) Nerve cells = neuron: principal neurons. Sensory neurons & motor neurons: interneurons. Satellite cells = neuroglia: structural support. Supporting the nerve cells & circuits: trash collectors, fight off the infections, provide and produce the nutrients, everything except for the actual processing.
