Intention at first was to reform the catholic church. Catholicism believes in the authority of the pope. Protestants read the bible for themselves in their own language (used to be in latin) Catholic bible there is one interpretation for what the bible says. Church of england in canada, we call this anglican. Different reformation lead to wars between different kingdoms.
