Canadian council on animal care has set guidelines on: the procurement and production of experimental animals, the facilities and care of experimental animals, the control of experiments involving animals. The main idea is that experimental animals must not be exposed to avoidable distress or discomfort. There must be reasonable expectation that studies involving animals will: increase understanding of human behavior, increase understanding of a particular animal, result in benefits to the health of humans and other animals. Played loud sound whenever a baby tried to reach for a mouse. Ethical violation: informed consent: used a child from an orphanage who couldn"t consent. Had some children who had speech classes. Had some children who were berated by a graduate student, inciting a stutter. Wanted to know how new drugs affected people. Did not give experimental drugs or diagnosis to all participants. Hooked people up to a shock machine and said he would give people a small shock and measure blood pressure.
