Tadpole on leaves with defense mechanism to jump into the water no parental care. Tadpoles in puddle and father digs a canal to the open river to save them when the puddle dries up. Mother produces an unfertilized egg for tadpole in leave puddle so it has a meal. Father puts tadpoles into pouches on his hips and look after them for up to 6 weeks. P2 (two parents) > p1 (one parent) > p0 (no parents) P=payoff from providing care (proportion of offspring surviving due to care) W/w=fecundity of female if she provides care or does not provide care p= chance of multiple mating for males that provide no care. *male gains extra fecundity from possibly finding another mate after desertion.
