Cancer is a term used for diseases in which abnormal cells divide without control and are able to invade other tissues. The existing normal cells are affected in a way (mutation in their genome) that they become abnormal cells. Cancer is not just one disease, but many diseases. There are more than 100 different types of cancer. It is a widespread disorder that usually develops with age. Cancer cells can reach distant parts of the body, that they are directly connected to, travelling through blood and lymph vessels.
