Success of socialization depends on: where individuals are in the life cycle, how prepared/open people are to socialization, how we evaluate and regard agents of socialization. The process: primary socialization, everything that happens in childhood (because of family, more socialization occurs in early life, secondary socialization, after childhood and adolescence, less flexible than when you are a child. Baby boomers in the contemporary workforce: baby boomers were born right after the war and great depression (have significant impact on early life, workforce has changed considerable (technology, outsourcing of jobs, skill sets) Industrial era where most of the jobs revolved around manufacturing. Socialization: socialized is often thought of as a positive thing, we can also be socialized into disruptive behaviour, some consequences can be negative, there are also consequences for rejecting socialization.
