What is a phenotype: the standard view is that genotype x environment phenotype, a phenotype is any observable characteristic or trait of an organisms which includes morphology, physiology, behaviour and etc. , Phenotypic expression of a gene can exist outside the cell in which the genes exert their immediate biochemical influence dawkins. E. g. bower building bower builds build and decorate homes.
