Document Summary
Plant cells and plant tissues: undifferentiated cells: meristems, differentiated cells. A meristem is a group of meristematic cells. Division more meristematic cells and differentiated cells. Shoot apical meristem (sam) top of the plant. Root apical meristem (ram) bottom of the plant. Axillary meristem each axil leading to a branch or leaf we have cells waiting to be activated into a side branch. Adventitious meristem whenever a plant needs to grow some tissues or organ they use these. Lateral root meristem whenever a plant wants to produce roots. Vascular cambium responsible to help the plant grow in a horizontal way ( increase in a stem thickness) Always located at the primary tip of the young growing shoot since it is very important because gives rise to any other cells need it, it is protected by layers of embryonic cells and leaves. Root apical meristem (ram) located a little further behind the root.
