Symbolic interactionism: early gender socialization, self-fulfilling prophecy: thinking differently about something causes change in attitude (ex. Teacher believes student is not smart, so they get bad grades) Rejection, rebellion, discord, lifestyle parental values, experiment with new elements. Peer influence becomes more important as people become older. Television is still more engaged than internet, but internet is faster growing. Self-socialization: can go online and learn anything, listen to any music, watch anything.
