When we talk about different blood types we"re actually talking about antibodies and antigens that are components of the fluid. You have opposing antigens and antibodies you want the antibodies to attack the type that you don"t have o o o. Type a has b antigens and b antibodies for example. Type ab doesn"t have either antibodies but both antigens. Type o has neither antigens and both antibodies. Type ab can accept any type of blood because you don"t have any antibodies to attack the other types. Type o can donate to anyone because you have the antibodies but you don"t have any antigens. If you have rh, you are positive, if you don"t, you are negative o o. You don"t have any antibodies associated with it. If you receive negative you can handle it but only once because if you"re minus you will develop antigens for it.
