Document Summary

Francis crick thought there must be some sort of adaptor molecule since nucleotide codons had 4 nucleotide bases, so frequency of 4. So how was triplet codon translated into particular amino acid. Covalent bond that joins trna molecule to mrna molecule. One part of molecule is capable of base pairing, other part capable of binding a particular amino acid. Now we know these trna molecules are found in all living organisms, assume they"ere present in all living organisms. We have to assume there has to be at least one molecule fore ach codon, but theres actually not a 1:1 correspondence between codon and trna mol. Trna mol represent a very large amount of total fraction of rna found in cell. approx. Larger portion is ribosomal rna, which we"ll talk bout later on. Trna is large single stranded molec, composed of 60-95 nucleotides. So not set strucutre, but lots of thins in common.
