Formed by people outside of mainstream society, people who resist conformity. Still identify as a group with similar ideals, may have initiations or identity markers. Examples: hippies of the 60s, hipsters of the 2000s, body modification groups. Youth gangs live in urban areas, social problem, initiation rituals and membership symbols.
