Document Summary
Situation specific confidence that people have while coping with high-risk situations without relapsing to their unhealthy habit. Self-efficacy: confidence that you will be able to make the change. Ex: somebody might have a great deal of confidence in their behavioural change in stopping smoking, but will not be very successful in terms to dietary restrictions: temptation. Intensity of urges to engage in an unhealthy habit while in the midst of difficult situations. Three factors reflect the most common types of tempting situations: negative effects or emotional distress, positive social situations, craving. Positive social situations can sometimes be tempting ex: when you are on a diet and go to a wedding where there are tempting unhealthy food. To adjust to temptations, it is important to know the triggers of your cravings and must have a plan to dealing with these situations.
