Then death is the end of human consciousness. Is the person gone: putrefaction (significant decay) Identifiable to perceiver: event: clinical/legal, process: systematic putrefaction. Nonliving: no longer identifiable, preserving body was psychologically meaningful in some traditions (ie: mummification) In other traditions, body is irrelevant, destroyed after death.
