We have had huge progress, but sill have a lot to go. Some countries have already met sdg targets for maternal and child health services. Sdg"s should be realisic, so that countries don"t back out of the agreement. Countries that sill have very high child and newborn deaths: pakistan, nigeria, india, bangladesh. Newborn deaths most oten due to: premature death, asphyxia, sepsis, malaria. 2/3 of child and newborn deaths are completely preventable. Undernutriion contributes to more than 1/3 of all child deaths. Stuning is a good sign of inadequate nutriion, which makes you more suscepible to other diseases, which in turn reinforces stuning.
