Document Summary
The genotype and phenotype raios are both 1:2:1. Tells us that the gene that we are dealing with does not code for an enzyme, the pigment is just a protein product. We see a blending of colours in the ofspring: R1 produces the wild type red pigment. R2 produces white (a lack of red pigment) When red combines with white, they produce a pink pigment in the ofspring, because there isn"t suicient red pigment from just one red parent to make a red ofspring. If you start out with two grey cows and get a black cow ofspring: Not true breeding parents, because then you would keep geing grey ofspring. One hypothesis is that the colour is incomplete dominance (the black cow is homozygous for the black color allele) You make up a gene and its various alleles, cb and cw grey is heterozygous, so cbcw.
